DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT - PHASE 2
Overnight Lane Closures and Detours on the Dulles Greenway, Dulles Access Highway and Dulles Toll Road -
Weekend of April 13-15
  
The following lane closures and detours are scheduled to take this weekend, Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 16.  All work is weather dependent and subject to change. Please see below for more detailed information. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
NOTICE:DULLES TOLL ROAD (DTR) and DULLES ACCESS HIGHWAY (DIAAH) EAST: A full nighttime closure of the eastbound Dulles Toll Road, between the Route 28 and Reston Parkway overpasses, will take place on Saturday, April 14 at 10 p.m. until Sunday morning, April 15 at 6 a.m. Eastbound DIAAH traffic bound for Centreville Road, Fairfax County Parkway and Reston Parkway traffic will detour onto the eastbound DTR near mile marker 1.6, via the existing slip ramp (the slip ramp at mile marker 2.7 will be closed), and the DIAAH will be reduced to one lane. These closures are necessary to allow overhead installation of the final Reston Station pedestrian bridge span. See details below.
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
 
When:   Saturday, April 14, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What:    Right lane closure
Where: From mile marker 5.7 to 0.0 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to the Aviation Drive overpass at Dulles Airport)
Why:     Dulles Metrorail Station and Civil work

Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:   Saturday, April 14, 10p.m. to Sunday, April 15, 6 a.m.
What:   Traffic for Centreville Road, Fairfax County Parkway and Reston Parkway detour to Dulles Toll Road, traffic reduced to one lane on eastbound DIAAH
Where:  From mile marker 1.6 to just east of the Reston Parkway overpass.
Detour: Centreville Road, Fairfax County Parkway and Reston Parkway traffic will detour onto the eastbound DTR near mile marker 1.6, via the existing slip ramp. (The slip ramp at mile marker 2.7 will be closed.) Message boards and signing will be in place. All other traffic will remain on the eastbound DIAAH. At 10 p.m., the DIAAH will be reduced to one through lane from mile marker 1.6 to just east of the Reston Parkway overpass.

Dulles Toll Road East
 
When:   Saturday, April 14, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
What:    Full closure with detour
Where:  From mile marker 2.0 to 5.5. DETOUR:Traffic lanes will gradually close until the just past the Centreville Road overpass where all DTR traffic will be diverted onto Exit 11. Detour signs will direct traffic to exit onto the Fairfax County Parkway south, to Sunrise Valley Drive east, to Reston Parkway north, and turn right back onto the eastbound Dulles Toll Road.

When:   Saturday, April 14, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:    Left lane closure
Where: From mile marker 5.7 to 1.5 (from approximately 2/10 mile after the Wiehle Avenue overpass to 3/10 mile before the Route 28 overpass)
Why:     Civil work

When:     Friday, April 13, 3 p.m. through to Saturday, April 14, 5 p.m.
What:      Double left lane closure
Where:  Between mile markers 9.0 and 12.0 (6/10 mile after the Ashburn Village  Boulevard overpass andthe Main Toll Plaza)
Why:       Paving

What:       Left lane closure
Where:  Between mile markers 7.6 and 14.0 (between Exit 5/Claiborne Parkway and Exit 7/Loudoun County Parkway.
Why:      Precast work at Ashburn Station (one day only, between mile markers 7.8 and 9.2) and Civil operations will be taking place within this lane closure.

What:     Left lane closure
Where:  Between mile markers 12.2 to 11.0 (begin approximately 3/10 mile west of the Main Toll Plaza and end just beyond the Old Ox Road overpass)
Why:      Civil work

Drivers are asked to use caution and remain attentive to all signage and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the roadway at various times. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
