DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT-PHASE 2
Lane Closures and Detours Overnight on the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles International Airport Access Highway, Dulles Greenway and Airport Roads - Weekend of September 9
 
Nighttime construction activities will take place on Friday, Sept. 9, causing lane closures and a detour on the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Autopilot Drive and Rudder Road.
 
All work is weather dependent.
 
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East
When:     Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:      Left lane closed
Where:    From mile marker 1.7 to 2.1 (between the Route 28 overpass and the Centreville Road overpass) 
Why:       Directional drilling operation
 
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) West
 
When:     Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:      Left lane closed
Where:    From mile marker 4.0 to 3.3 (from 2/10 mile past the Fairfax County Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile past the Monroe Street overpass)
 Why:      Duct bank work
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:     Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:      Eastbound full closure begin at 10 p.m.  Follow detour; EB DIAAH reopens at 5 a.m.
Where:    From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 0.3 (near the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:        Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound DIAAH
 
When:      Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:       Right lane closure; slip ramp will remain open.
Where:     From mile marker 1.4 to 2.1 (from just east of Route 28 overpass to just east of the Centreville Road overpass).    
Why:        Road work
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
 
When:      Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:       Right lane closed
Where:     From mile marker 4.0 to 3.3 (from 2/10 mile past the Fairfax County Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile past the Monroe Street overpass)
 Why:       Road work
 
When:      Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:       Westbound full closure begin at 10 p.m.  Follow detour; WB DIAAH reopens at 5 a.m.
Where:     From mile marker 0.3 (near the Rudder Road overpass) to 0.0 (Saarinen Circle)
Why:         Installation of a concrete span across the westbound DIAAH
 
Autopilot Drive North
 
When:      Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
What:       Left lane closed
Where:     From Rudder Road to 450 feet north of Rudder Road (near the Hertz car rental facility).
Why:         Aerial guideway construction
 
Autopilot Drive South
 
When:       Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
What:        Left lane closed
Where:      From 450 feet north of Rudder Road (near the Hertz car rental facility) to Rudder Road.
Why:          Aerial guideway construction
 
Rudder Road West
 
When:       Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
What:        Right lane and ramp to Green Lot closed
Where:      From the ramp from the westbound DIAAH to Ariane Way/Blue Lot access road, including the ramp to the Green Lot. Traffic will be directed to use next entrance to Economy Parking.
Why:         Duct bank work
 
Dulles Greenway East
 
When:       Friday, Sept. 9 - Friday, Sept. 9, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
What:        Two right lanes closed
Where:      From mile marker 10.6 to 12.0 (from the Broad Run bridge to 4/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza)
Why:          Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound Dulles Greenway
