Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the
Week of April 10 - April 16
 
Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening, lane shifting, utility work, excavation and other construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2.  Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Route 28, Centreville Road, Route 606, Sunset Hills Road, Sunrise Valley Drive and Sayward Boulevard during the week of April 10 - April 16.
 
All work is weather permitting.

Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 1.3 to 3.3 (from 1/10 mile past the Route 28 overpass to 1/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore, duct bank work
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 3.3 to 5.2 (from 1/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) West
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, April 16 - Sunday, April 17 ,10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 3.7 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 3/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, April 16 - Sunday, April 17, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 3.5 to 1.5 (from 1/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to 3/10 mile before the Route 28 overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, April 16 - Sunday, April 17, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 0.0 to 2.3 (from Saarinen Circle to 2/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, April 16 to Sunday, April 17, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 3.3 to 5.3 (from 1/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to 1/10 mile past the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Sunday, April 10, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Eastbound lane reductions begin at 7 p.m.  Eastbound full lane closures begin at 10 p.m. 15 minute closures of ramp from EB DIAAH to Aviation Drive may occur. Follow signage and police instructions to exit airport. EB DIAAH repoens at 5 a.m. 
Where:  From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 0.4 (near the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:     Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound DIAAH, movement of large forms across Aviation Drive
 
When:   Monday, April 11 - Saturday, April 16, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Eastbound lane reductions begin at 9 p.m.  Eastbound full lane closures begin at 10 p.m.  Road reopens at 5 a.m. Follow detour.
Where:  From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 0.4 (near the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:     Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound DIAAH
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 0.3 to 200 feet past the ramp to Copilot Way, including ramps in the vicinity (from 2/10 mile past the Rudder Road overpass to Saarinen Circle past Garage 1)
Why:    Road work
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, April 16 - Sunday, April 17, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 3.3 to 0.6 (from 1/10 mile after the Monroe Street overpass to 1/10 mile before the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:    Duct bank work
 
When:   Sunday, April 10 - Saturday, April 16, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, April 16 to April 17, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 3.3 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile past the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Road work
 
Dulles Greenway East
 
When:   Monday, April 11 - Friday, April 15, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 7.6 and 12.2 (from Broadlands Boulevard to 2/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Road work
 
Dulles Greenway West
 
When:   Monday, April 11 - Friday, April 15, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 12.2 and 7.6 (from 2/10 mile after the mainline toll plaza to Broadlands Boulevard), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur

Route 28 South
 
When:   Monday, April 11 - Thursday, April 14, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, April 15, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From the Dulles Toll Road overpass to the ramp to Frying Pan Road
Why:     Electrical duct bank work
 
Centreville Road North and South
When:   Monday, April 11 - Friday, April 15, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Friday, April 15 to April 16, 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  Northbound and southbound Centrevile Road between Woodland Park and Parcher Avenue. Note: Drivers may experience delays 
Why:     Overhead steel work at Centreville Road Bridge 
 
Route 606
 
When:   Monday, April 11 - Friday, April 15, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
What:    Road closures of up to 5 minutes
Where:  From the Commerce Center Court to Mercure Circle
Why:     Rock blasting
 
Sunset Hills Road East
 
When:   Monday, April 11 - Thursday, April 14, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, April 15, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  Between the Fairfax County Parkway and Reston Parkway
Why:     Excavation
 
Sunrise Valley Drive West
 
When:   Monday, April 11 - Friday, April 15, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  Westbound Sunrise Valley Drive from Dulles Technology Boulevard to 550 feet past Dulles Station Boulevard
Why:     Construction Deliveries
 
Sayward Boulevard West
 
When:   Monday, April 11 - Thursday, April 14, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, April 15, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  At the intersection with Carta Way
Why:     Excavation
