Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the
Week of Feb. 11 - Feb. 17

Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2.  Lane, shoulder, road, and ramp closures will occur at locations along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Sunrise Valley Drive, Moran Road, Old Ox Road, and Herndon Parkway during the week of Feb. 11 - Feb. 17. In addition, there will be westbound shoulder closures along the Dulles Connector Road and the DIAAH along the Phase 1 alignment.  Highlights of significant detour activities include:

Eastbound DIAAH and DTR Near Herndon StationHeavy construction work that requires the use of a large crane will be taking place during the week at night near the Herndon Metrorail Station. The crane will be positioned on the eastbound DIAAH adjacent to the station and the area will be closed to traffic. Eastbound DIAAH drivers will be detoured onto the eastbound DTR, then returned to the DIAAH beyond the location of the construction activity. The eastbound DTR will be reduced to two lanes in order to accommodate entering vehicles.

Eastbound and Westbound DIAAH Near Dulles Station: During the weekend of Feb. 16-17, overhead work on the Aerial guideway at Dulles Airport will necessitate nighttime traffic detours between the Rudder Road overpass and Saarinen Circle.

Eastbound Greenway near Ashburn StationThe tower crane currently located at the Ashburn Metrorail Station will be dismantled and moved at night during the weekend of Feb. 16-18.  The activity will require the closure of the two left lanes of the eastbound Greenway in that area for reasons of safety.

See below for more specific dates, times and details and remember that all work is weather permitting.

PLEASE USE CAUTION and remain attentive to all signage, barricades and speed limits, and obey all police and flagger instructions. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering and exiting the highways and surrounding roads.
