 Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the
Week of March 6 - March 11
 
Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening, lane shifting, utility work, excavation and other construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phases 1 and 2.  Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Autopilot Drive, Rudder Road, Route 7, Route 28, Route 123, Sunrise Valley Drive, Sunset Hills Road, Scott’s Crossing Road, Spring Hill Road and Tysons Blvd. during the week of March 6 - March 12.
 
All work is weather permitting and contingent upon appropriate road conditions.

Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East
 
When:   Sunday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 3.5 to 5.2 (from 1/10 mile past the Monroe Street overpass to between the Centreville Road and Reston Parkway overpasses)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
When:   Sunday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 2.5 to 4.5 (between the Centreville Road and Reston Parkway overpasses)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
When:   Tuesday, March 8 - Wednesday, March 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:    Right lane of ramp to Route 7 eastbound closed
Where:  From exit ramp of DTR to Westwood Center Drive
Why:     Installation of guardrail
 
 
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) West
 
When:   Sunday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 3.7 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 3/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
When:   Sunday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 3.5 to 1.5 (between the Fairfax County Parkway overpass and Route 28)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:   Monday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, March 12, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 0.5 to 2.5 (from the Rudder Road overpass to the Centreville Road overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Monday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, March 12, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 2.5 to 5.3 (from the Centerville Road overpass to 1/10 mile past the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Sunday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, March 12, 9 p.m. to Sunday, March 13, 11 a.m.
What:    Eastbound lane reductions begin at 9 p.m.  Eastbound full lane closures begin at 10 p.m.  Road reopens at 5 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday mornings; road reopens at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 13.  Follow detour.
Where:  From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 0.4 (near the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:     Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound DIAAH. 
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
 
When:   Sunday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, March 12, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 2.8 to 0.8 (from 3/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass to 3/10 mile before the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:    Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Sunday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 2.5 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 3/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
Dulles Greenway East
 
When:   Monday, March 7 - Friday, March 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 7.6 and 12.2 (from Broadlands Boulevard to 2/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Road work
 
When:   Saturday, March 12, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  Between mile marker 7.6 and 12.2 (from Broadlands Boulevard to 2/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur

Dulles Greenway West
 
When:   Monday, March 7 - Friday, March 11, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 12.0 and 7.6 (from 3/10 mile after the mainline toll plaza to Broadlands Boulevard), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Road work
 
When:   Saturday, March 12, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What:    Left lane closed

What:    Northbound lanes closed; northbound traffic diverted to one southbound lane.
Where:  Autopilot Drive from Rudder Road to Materials Road

When:   Sunday, March 6 - Saturday, March 12, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From the ramp from the westbound DIAAH to the Exxon Station

Route 7 East
 
When:   Monday, March 7 - Wednesday, March 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:    Ramp shoulder closed
Where:  From 500 feet before Route 123 to Route 123
Why:     Replace/install street signs
 
Route 7 West
 
When:   Monday, March 7 - Wednesday, March 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From Frontage Road to SAIC Drive

Route 28 South
 
When:   Monday, March 7 - Thursday, March 10, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, March 11, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From the Dulles Toll Road overpass to the ramp to Frying Pan Road.
Why:     Electrical duct bank work
 
Route 123 North
 
When:   Monday, March 7 - Wednesday, March 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:    Left turn lane to Route 7 westbound closed
Where:  From 500 feet before Route 7 to Route 7

What:    Right lane closed
Where:  Westbound Sunrise Valley Drive from Dulles Technology Boulevard to 550 feet past Dulles Station Boulevard
Why:     Construction Deliveries
 
When:   Monday, March 7 - Friday, March 11, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, March 11, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From 1200 feet east of Fairfax County Parkway (Sunoco) to 800 feet west of Reston Parkway (end of clearing)
Why:     Excavation
 
Tysons Boulevard
 
When:   Monday, March 7 - Wednesday, March 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:    Left turn lane closed (left turn movement will be permitted from the left through lane
Where:  From 500 feet before Galleria Drive to Galleria Drive
Why:     Replace/install street signs
