Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the

Week of October 25 – 31 

Phase 1 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews will be inspecting manholes and cleaning storm drains for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 1. Lane closures will occur along Leesburg Pike during the week of October 25 - 31.
 
Phase 2 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening, lane shifting, utility work, excavation and other construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2.  Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles International Airport Access Highway, Dulles Greenway, Rudder Road, Autopilot Drive, and Centreville Road during the week of October 25 - 31. 
 
Crews will continue the bridge work at night over Centreville Road at the intersection of the entrance and exit ramps for the eastbound and westbound Dulles Toll Road. Drivers may experience minor delays due to lane closures in the northbound and southbound lanes between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

            Friday, October 30, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:   Right thru lane of Route 7 eastbound closed
Where: From Spring Hill Road to Gosnell Road
Why:    Inspect manholes
 
Leesburg Pike (Route 7) West
 
When:  Sunday, October 25 - Monday, October 26, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
           Monday, October 26 - Thursday, October 29, 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:   Right lane closed
Where: From the interception of Westpark Drive and Route 7 to the interception of Spring Hill Road and Route 7
Why:   Cleaning storm drains
 
Dulles Toll Road East
 
When:   Sunday, October 25 - Saturday, October 31, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating double right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 1.2 to 5.3 (from the Route 28 overpass to 1/10 mile past the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Lane shifting
 
When:   Thursday, October 29 - Saturday, October 31, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 0.6 to 5.7 (from the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
When:   Sunday, October 25 - Saturday, October 31, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:    Ramp narrows on left and right side
Where:  Along the ramp to the eastbound Dulles Toll Road from southbound Route 28, and along the ramp from the eastbound Dulles Toll Road to northbound Route 28

Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 0.6 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway)

Where: From mile marker 3.2 to 5.7 (from 2/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)

When:  Sunday, October 25, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
            Tuesday, October 27 - Friday, October 30, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
            Saturday, October 31, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 2.7 to 0.3 (from 2/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass to 2/10 mile past the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:    Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane

What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 7.6 and 12.2 (from Broadlands Boulevard to 2/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur

Dulles Greenway West
 
When:   Monday, October 26 - Tuesday, October 27, 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
What:    Two left lanes closed
Where:  From mile marker 11.4 to 9.5 (from 4/10 mile before the Old Ox Road overpass to 3/10 mile past the Loudoun County Parkway overpass)
Why:     Road work
 
When:   Monday, October 26 - Friday, October 30, 3 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 12.0 and 7.6 (from 3/10 mile after the mainline toll plaza to Broadlands Boulevard), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Road work
 
Autopilot Drive
 
When:   Sunday, October 25 - Saturday, October 31, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Full closure of northbound lanes
Where:  Northbound lanes of Autopilot Drive from Rudder Road to Materials Road closed; northbound traffic will be shifted to the southbound lanes
Why:     Superstructures work
 
Rudder Road West
 
When:  Sunday, October 25, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
            Monday, October 26 - Friday, October 30, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
            Saturday, October 31, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
What:   Right lane closed
Where: Westbound Rudder Road from the ramp from the westbound DIAAH to the intersection with Ariane Way
Why:    Utility work
 
Centreville Road North and South
 
When:   Monday, October 26 - Saturday, October 31, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  Northbound and southbound Centreville Road between Woodland Park and Parcher Avenue.  Note:  Drivers may experience delays.
Why:     Overhead installation of floor and deck beams at the Centreville Road Bridge

Access to all businesses in the construction areas along Routes 7 is maintained throughout the work periods. Motorists should stay alert, use extreme caution, and be prepared to allow extra time or alter their travel along these roads.
