Rail Work Starting Feb. 16 Near Hourly Parking at Dulles
Those using the Hourly Parking Lot at Washington Dulles International Airport may encounter disruptions starting on or about Feb. 16, when crews begin grading, paving, excavations and utility work in preparation for construction of the Silver Line's Dulles Airport Station. This work will take place during daytime and nighttime hours and will be ongoing through the first half of 2015.
Large, slow-moving vehicles and equipment will be exiting and entering the Hourly Parking lot, and flaggers will be present as needed to facilitate the ingress of trucks into the lot and their egress onto Commercial Vehicle Drive. During certain work phases, approximately 50 trucks per day may be moving through the Hourly Parking Lot between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. The westbound drive lane along the north side of the Hourly Parking Lot will be closed, and the east end of the lot will used as a holding area for equipment and materials and closed to public parking. Lane and shoulder closures along Saarinen Circle will occur, and drivers should be alert to changing conditions as the work progresses.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
