DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT - PHASE 2
Nighttime Lane Closures and Detours on the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles International Airport Access Highway, Air Freight Lane and Rudder Road - Friday, June 17 & Saturday, June 18
 
Phase 2 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening, lane shifting, utility work, excavation and other construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2. Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), and Rudder Road, Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18.
 
SPECIAL NOTICE:  On or about Friday, June 17 at 10 p.m. to Sunday, June 19 at 10 p.m., the left lane of the eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway between the Fairfax County Parkway overpass and the Reston Parkway overpass will be closed.
 
On or about Saturday, June 18, and Sunday, June 19, from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, the left lane of the westbound DIAAH will be closed. Signage will be in place at several key entry points to the westbound DIAAH to notify drivers and inform them of the option to use the Dulles Toll Road.
 
These closures are required for the erection of a tower crane at the Reston Town Center Station site. Drivers are asked to use caution and remain attentive to all signage, barricades, adjusted speed limits. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highway at various times.
 
All work is weather permitting.

When:   Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, June 18 - Sunday, June 19, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 3.3 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile beyond the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:   Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Eastbound lane reductions begin at 9 p.m.  Eastbound full closure begins at 10 p.m.  Road reopens at 5 a.m. Follow detour.
Where:  From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 0.4 (near the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:     Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound DIAAH.
 
When:   Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, June 18 - Sunday, June 19, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 0.0 to 2.3 (from Saarinen Circle to 2/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, June 18 - Sunday, June 19, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 3.3 to 5.4 (from 1/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to 2/10 mile beyond the Reston Parkway overpass)

When:   Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, June 18 - Sunday, June 19, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 3.3 to 0.3 (from 1/10 mile beyond the Monroe Street overpass to 2/10 mile beyond the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:    Duct bank work
 
When:   Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, June 18 - Sunday, June 19, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 3.3 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile beyond the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Road work
 
When:   Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Two left lanes closed
Where:  From mile marker 0.3 to Saarinen Circle (from 2/10 mile beyond  the Rudder Road overpass to Saarinen Circle near Garage 1), traffic will be diverted around work area.
Why:    Installation of a concrete span across the westbound DIAAH. 
 
Rudder Road West
 
When:   Friday, June 17 - Saturday, June 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From the ramp from the westbound DIAAH to Ariane Way/Blue Lot access road
Why:     Duct bank work
