Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the Week of Feb. 21 - Feb. 27

Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening, lane shifting, utility work, excavation and other construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2.  Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Autopilot Drive, Rudder Road, Sunrise Valley Drive and Sunset Hills Road during the week of February 21 – February 27.

All work is weather permitting and contingent upon appropriate road conditions.

Dulles Toll Road East

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 2.5 to 3.5 (from the Centreville Road overpass to 1/10 mile past the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 4.5 to 5.3 (from 3/10 mile past the Fairfax County Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile past the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations

 

Dulles Toll Road West

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 3.7 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 3/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 5.3 to 1.2 (from 1/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to the Route 28 overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations

 

Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 3.2 to 5.2 (from 2/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane

When:   Sunday, Feb. 21 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
What:    Eastbound lane reductions begin at 9 p.m.  Eastbound full lane closures begin at 10 p.m.  Road reopens at 5 a.m. Follow detour.
Where:  From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 0.4 (near the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:     Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound DIAAH. 

 

Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 2.7 to 1.4 (from 2/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass to 2/10 mile before the Rt. 28 overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 3.7 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 3/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane

 

Dulles Greenway East

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Friday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 7.6 and 12.2 (from Broadlands Boulevard to 2/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Road work

 

Dulles Greenway West

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Friday, Feb. 26, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 12.0 and 7.6 (from 3/10 mile after the mainline toll plaza to Broadlands Boulevard), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Road work

 

Autopilot Drive

When:   Sunday, Feb. 21 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Northbound lanes closed; northbound traffic diverted to one southbound lane.
Where:  Autopilot Drive from Rudder Road to Materials Road
Why:     Superstructures work

 

Rudder Road West

When:   Sunday, Feb. 21 - Saturday, Feb. 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  Westbound Rudder Road from the ramp from the westbound DIAAH to the intersection with Ariane Way
Why:     Utility work

 

Sunset Hills Road East

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Thursday, Feb. 25, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday, February 26, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  Between the Fairfax County Parkway and Reston Parkway
Why:     Excavation

 

Sunrise Valley Drive West

When:   Monday, Feb. 22 - Thursday, Feb. 25, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday, February 26, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  Westbound Sunrise Valley Drive from Dulles Technology Boulevard to 550 feet past Dulles Station Boulevard
Why:     Construction Deliveries
