Important Lane Closures for the 
Week of July 19 – July 25
 
Road/station work and inspections along Leesburg Pike (Route 7), Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123), Frontage Road, Westpark Drive, Colshire Drive, Dulles Connector Road (DCR) and I-66 will continue the week of July 19, 2015 and will cause multiple lane closures.
 
Phase 2 Barrier Installation, Utility Work, and Other Construction Activities Continue along the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles International Airport Access Highway, Dulles Greenway and Airport Roads
 
Phase 2 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening, barrier installation, utility work, and other construction activities.  Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway and Autopilot Drive the week of July 19 – July 25.  
 
This work will take place both overnights and during the daytime hours.  Please note that dates and times may change as lane closures can be adversely affected by inclement weather or other elements.  Details of the work that will take place this week follow below.

Please see the details for all of these activities as well as other lane, ramp and shoulder closures that have been approved for the week July 19, 2015.  All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.  All night shift lane closures will have police escorts onsite for enhanced public safety.
 
Leesburg Pike (Route 7) East
 
When:  Monday, July 20 - Thursday, July 23, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, July 24, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
What:   Right thru lane of Route 7 eastbound closed
Where: From DTR to 600 feet east of Spring Hill Road
Why:    Handicap ramps repair punch list
 
When:  Monday, July 20 – Thursday, July 23, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, July 24, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
What:   Left thru lane of Route 7 eastbound closed
Where: From Gosnell Road to Route 123
Why:    Crack repairs in median

Where: From 200 feet east of Route 123 to 200 feet west of Route 123

When:  Monday, July 20 - Thursday, July 23, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
Friday, July 24, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
What:   Right most thru lane of Route 123 southbound closed
Where: From Scotts Crossing to Capital One Drive

Frontage Road 
 
When:  Monday, July 20 - Thursday, July 23, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Friday, July 24, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
What:   North and southbound alternating Frontage Road flagging operation
Where: From 600 feet east of Route 7 to 200 feet east of Route 7
Why:    Shoulder work
 
Dulles Connector Road (DCR) West
 
When:  Monday, July 20 - Thursday, July 23, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Friday, July 24, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
What:   One left thru lane westbound DCR closed
Where: From 1,500 feet west of Pimmit Run to Chain Bridge Road
Why:    Paving shoulder and miscellaneous cleanup
 
When:  Monday, July 20 - Thursday, July 23, 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
Friday, July 24, 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. 
What:   Right thru lane westbound DCR closed
Where: From 900 feet east of Idylwood Road to Idylwood Road
Why:    Installation of permanent sign
 
I-66 East
 
When:  Monday, July 20 – Thursday, July 23, 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Friday, July 24, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:   Left lane closed eastbound I-66 at Haycock Road
Where: Eastbound I-66 to Haycock Road
Why:    Paving shoulder and guardrail installation
 
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 0.6 to 4.2 (from the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway to the Fairfax County Parkway overpass)
Why:    Jack and bore operations
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:   Two left lanes closed
Where: From mile marker 1.8 to 4.5 (from 6/10 mile after the Route 28 overpass to 3/10 mile after the Fairfax County Parkway overpass)
Why:     Utility work
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:   Ramp narrows, left and right side
Where: Along the ramp to the eastbound DTR from southbound Route 28, and along the ramp from the eastbound DTR to northbound Route 28

What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 4.2 to 0.6 (from the Fairfax County Parkway overpass to the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway)

Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths 
Where: From mile marker 3.2 to 5.7 (from 2/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:    Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 0.3 to 2.7 (from 2/10 mile before the Rudder Road overpass to 2/10 mile past the Centreville Road overpass)
Why:    Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 2.7 to 0.3 (from 2/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass to 2/10 mile past the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:    Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths 
Where: From mile marker 5.7 to 3.2 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 2/10 mile after the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:    Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures
Where: From mile marker 0.3 to 200 feet past Copilot Way (from 2/10 mile after the Rudder Road overpass, continuing along Saarinen Circle past Daily Garage 1), including ramps in the vicinity of Daily Garage 1
Why:    Road widening
 
Dulles Greenway East
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 10 a.m. to 5 a.m.
What:   Right lane closed
Where: From mile marker 14.0 where the overpass crosses Route 28 to the intersection of the eastbound Dulles Greenway and the eastbound DTR
Why:    Barrier installation
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: Between mile marker 8.6 and 12.2 (from 1/10 mile after the Ashburn Village Boulevard overpass to 2/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:    Barrier installation, grading, paving
 
Dulles Greenway West
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:   Left lane closed
Where: Between mile marker 10.9 and 8.6 (from 1/10 mile after the Old Ox Road overpass to 1/10 mile before the Ashburn Village Boulevard overpass), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Barrier installation, grading, paving
 
Autopilot Drive
 
When:  Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:   Alternating right and left lane closures 
Where: Northbound Autopilot Drive from Rudder Road to the Avis entrance
Why:    Utility work
 
Access to all businesses in the construction areas along Routes 7 is maintained throughout the work periods. Motorists should stay alert, use extreme caution, and be prepared to allow extra time or alter their travel along these roads.
