Weekend Detour for Silver Line Construction
Friday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. - Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6 a.m.
On or about Friday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. to Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6 a.m. (with a backup date of Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10 p.m. through Sunday, Oct. 1 at 6 a.m. if necessary), the westbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) will be diverted to the westbound Dulles Toll Road (DTR). The detour will allow Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews to continue construction of the Silver Line's Innovation Center Metrorail Station. See details below and on the next page.
Friday, Sept. 29, 10 p.m. to Saturday, Sept. 30, 6 a.m.:
  • The slip ramp from the westbound DTR to the westbound DIAAH at mile marker 9.0 (2/10 mile past the Beulah Road overpass) will be closed.
  • All westbound DIAAH traffic will be diverted to the westbound DTR via the bus ramp at mile marker 8.3 (See Figure 1).
  • The two left lanes of the westbound DTR will be closed between Beulah Road and Centerville Road.
  • The slip ramp from the westbound DTR to the westbound DIAAH at mile marker 3.3 (1/10 mile past the Monroe/Van Buren Street overpass) will be closed.
  • Westbound traffic to the airport will return to the DIAAH via the slip ramp at mile marker 1.8 with no toll payment required (See Figure 2, next page).

All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Information about additional detours will be forthcoming as the work progresses through October and in the upcoming months.
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all police and flagger instructions, signage, and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highways at various times.
