Daily Lane Closures Continue Along Old Meadow Road, Route 123 in Tysons July 1 - 3 and July 8 - 12

Daily Lane Closures Continue Along Old Meadow Road, 
Route 
123 in Tysons July 1 - 3 and July 8 - 12
 
Motorists traveling through the Route 123/Old Meadow Road intersection will see continued daily lane closures during the next two weeks as crews perform utility work in preparation of the Old Meadow Road realignment with Capital One Tower Drive. The lane closures - planned for Monday, July 1, to Wednesday, July 3, and Monday, July 8, to Friday, July 12 - are needed to permit Dominion Energy to continue utility relocation work.  The closures are expected to continue for several more weeks.
 
The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project is performing the work because of impacts caused by Silver Line construction near McLean Metrorail Station.  Please see below for more detailed information.
 
Old Meadow Road - East
When:  Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 3, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
What:   Right lane closure
Where: From Route 123 to Colshire Meadow Road
Why:    Utility relocation work
 
When:  Monday, July 8, to Thursday, July 11, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Friday, July 12, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
What:   Left turn lane closure
Where: From Route 123 to Colshire Meadow Road
Why:    Utility relocation work

 
Route 123 - South
When:  Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 3, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
What:    Left turn lane closure
Where:  From 200 feet before Old Meadow Road to Old Meadow Road
Why:     Utility relocation work
 
When:  Monday, July 8, to Thursday, July 11, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Friday, July 12, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
What:    Left turn lane closure
Where:  From 200 feet before Old Meadow Road to Old Meadow Road
Why:     Utility relocation work
 
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
 
Signs and barrels will be used to help direct traffic and minimize impacts.  Drivers should use extreme caution in the areas and allow extra time to travel in these areas.
