Lane Closures and 20-Minute Stoppages on
Westbound Dulles Greenway
Friday, July 20, 10 p.m. to Saturday, July 21, 5 a.m.
Saturday, July 21, 10 p.m. to Sunday, July 22, 5 a.m.
 
On or about Friday and Saturday nights, July 20 and 21, Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews will continue installing electrical, plumbing and fire suppression equipment on the underside of the pedestrian bridges that cross over the westbound Dulles Greenway at the Loudoun Gateway and Ashburn Metrorail Stations.  The work will require double left lane closures with 20-minute traffic stoppages after midnight on each night.

Friday, July 20, 10 p.m. to Saturday,
 July 21, 5 a.m.:
  • The two left lanes of the westbound Dulles Greenway will be closed to traffic between the Old Ox Road and Loudoun County Parkway overpasses.(see Figure 1).
  • A single right lane will be open to traffic, and 20-minute stoppages will occur after midnight in the right lane of the westbound Dulles Greenway and on the ramp from Old Ox Road (Route 606) to the westbound Dulles Greenway.
  • All lanes will re-open to traffic on Saturday, July 21 at 5 a.m.

Saturday, July 21, 10 p.m. to Sunday, July 22, 5 a.m.:
  • The two left lanes of the westbound Dulles Greenway will be closed to traffic prior to the Loudoun County Parkway overpass and continuing past the Ashburn Metrorail station (see Figure 2).
  • A single right lane will be open to traffic, and 20-minute stoppages will occur after midnight in the right lane of the westbound Dulles Greenway prior to the Ashburn Metrorail Station.
  • All lanes will re-open to traffic on Sunday, July 22 at 5 a.m.
Utility work on the pedestrian bridges is expected to continue through the summer months. Additional notifications will be issued that detail the traffic control methods specific to each operation and provide directions for any detours that may be required.  All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
 
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all signage and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the roadways at various times.
