Overnight Detour on Eastbound DIAAH at Dulles International Airport:
Saturday, Mar. 12, 10 p.m. - Sunday, Mar. 13, 11 a.m.
On or about Saturday, Mar. 12 at 10 p.m., and continuing until Sunday, Mar. 13 at 11 a.m., the eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) at Dulles International Airport between mile markers 0.0 and 0.4 will be detoured to eastbound Aviation Drive. There will be two alternatives for access to the DIAAH, Dulles Greenway and to return to the airport.
Left lane closures will begin at 9 p.m. with all lanes of traffic detouring to Aviation Drive at 10 p.m.
The lane closures and detours are necessary to allow construction of a straddle bent over portions of the eastbound side of the DIAAH. A straddle bent is used to "straddle" wide spans of roadway allowing the unimpeded flow of traffic below. This is the second of eight straddle bents that will be built during Phase 2 of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.
All work is weather permitting. Drivers should exercise caution, pay attention to barriers and signage and obey all police and flagger instructions.
