Overnight Lane Closures on the Eastbound Dulles Toll Road and 20-Minute Stoppages on Sunrise Valley Drive Friday,
Oct. 20, 11:30 p.m. - Saturday, Oct. 21 6 a.m.
On or about Friday, Oct. 20 at 11:30 p.m. until Saturday, Oct. 21 at 6 a.m., shifting lane closures will occur on the eastbound Dulles Toll Road (DTR) near the site of the Silver Line's Innovation Center Station while Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews continue construction of the pedestrian bridges for the Silver Line Phase 2 Innovation Center Metrorail Station. Pedestrian bridge construction also will affect Sunrise Valley Drive where, for safety reasons, there will be 20-minute traffic stoppages between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.while work is taking place overhead. See details for both activities below.

Friday, Oct. 20 at 11:30 p.m. to Saturday, Oct. 21 at 6 a.m.:
  • Shifting left and right lane closures will occur on the eastbound DTR from mile marker 1.6 to 1.9 (from 4/10 mile after the Route 28 overpass to 7/10 mile after the Route 28 overpass), and on the ramp from the eastbound Dulles Greenway to the eastbound DTR (See Figure 1).
  • The slip ramp from the eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) to the eastbound DTR at mile marker 1.8 after the mainline toll booth will be closed. Eastbound DIAAH traffic to the Centreville Road exit (Exit 10, Rt. 657, Herndon/Chantilly) will be diverted to the Dulles Toll Road at mile marker 0.2. Signage will be in place to direct drivers.

Friday, Oct. 20 at 11:30 p.m. to Saturday, Oct. 21 at 5 a.m.:
  • 20 minute stoppages on eastbound and westbound Sunrise Valley Drive will occur near Dulles Station Boulevard while Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews continue construction of the pedestrian bridge over Sunrise Valley Drive (see Figure 2).
Figure 2:  20 minute stoppages will occur on Sunrise Valley Drive..

All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all police and flagger instructions, signage, and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highways at various times.
