UPDATE: Nighttime Lane Closures and Temporary Stoppages on the Westbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway and Dulles Toll Road March 6 - March 11

UPDATE:  Nighttime Lane Closures and Temporary Stoppages on the Westbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway and Dulles Toll Road
Monday, Mar. 6 - Saturday, Mar. 11
On or about Monday, Mar. 6, through Saturday, Mar. 11, night time lane closures and 20 minute stoppages will take place on the westbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) and Dulles Toll Road (DTR), between the Route 28 overpass and just east of the Centreville Road overpass (mile markers 1.3 - 2.7) for the installation of an overhead sign. More detailed information follows below:
Westbound DIAAH, Monday, Mar. 6 through Thursday, Mar. 9, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • A single right lane closure on westbound DIAAH will begin at 7 p.m. at mile marker 2.3, and will transition to a double right lane closure at 10 p.m. at mile marker 1.7 (See Figure 1).
  • All lanes will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m.

Westbound DIAAH, Friday, Mar. 10 OR Saturday, Mar. 11, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • A single left lane closure on westbound DIAAH will begin at 7 p.m. at mile marker 2.3, and will transition to a double left lane closure at 10 p.m. at mile marker 1.7 (See Figure 2 on the next page).
  • Between midnight and 5 a.m., several 20 minute stoppages will occur at mile marker 1.7.
  • All lanes will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m.
Westbound DTR, Friday, Mar. 10 OR Saturday, Mar. 11, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • A single left lane closure on the westbound DTR will begin at 7 p.m. at mile marker 2.7, and will transition to a double left lane closure at 10 p.m. at mile marker 2.1 (See Figure 2).
  • At least two lanes of through traffic will be maintained on the westbound DTR.
  • Traffic travelling from the westbound DTR to the DIAAH via the ramp at mile marker 1.8 will yield to traffic on the westbound DIAAH.
  • All lanes will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m.
Police will be present along the DIAAH and DTR for safety.  Drivers should exercise caution, pay attention to barrier and signage and obey all police and flagger instructions.
