Weekend Detour of Westbound Dulles Toll Road Between Reston Parkway and Fairfax County Parkway, Friday, Oct. 13 at 10 p.m. - Saturday, Oct. 14 at 6 a.m.
On or about Friday, Oct. 13 at 10 p.m. to Saturday, Oct. 14 at 6 a.m., the westbound Dulles Toll Road (DTR) will be diverted to secondary roads between the Reston Parkway and the Fairfax County Parkway. The detour will allow Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews to set a pedestrian bridge over the DTR that will provide access to the Silver Line's Reston Town Center Metrorail Station. See details below.
Friday, Oct. 13, 10 p.m. to Saturday, Oct. 14, 6 a.m.:
  • The ramp from Reston Parkway to the westbound Dulles Toll Road will be closed.
  • Westbound DTR traffic will exit the highway at Exit 12 (Reston Parkway, Route 602), turn south on Reston Parkway, west on Sunrise Valley Drive, and north on the Fairfax County Parkway to return to the westbound DTR (See Figure 1). PLEASE NOTE:  Drivers will not be charged an additional toll for this diversion.
  • Signage will be in place to direct drivers.
  • The westbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) will remain open to traffic during this timeframe.
Figure 1: Traffic on the WB DTR will be diverted to secondary roads.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all police and flagger instructions, signage, and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highways at various times.
