Weekend Detours on the Eastbound
Dulles Toll Road and Dulles Access Highway
Friday, Aug. 25 at 10 p.m. to Saturday, Aug. 26 at 6 a.m.
Saturday, Aug. 26 at 10 p.m. to Sunday, Aug. 27 at 6 a.m.
 
On or about the nights of Friday, Aug. 25 and Saturday, Aug. 26, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., detours will occur on the eastbound Dulles Toll Road (DTR) and Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) while overhead pedestrian bridges for the Silver Line's Herndon Station are installed. See details below.
Friday, Aug. 25, 10 p.m. to Saturday, Aug. 26, 6 a.m.
  • The eastbound DTR will be reduced to one lane.
  • The eastbound DIAAH will be diverted to a single lane of the eastbound DTR between Centreville Road and the Fairfax County Parkway.
  • Eastbound DTR traffic will be diverted through the Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride facility, and re-enter the DTR just east of the Park & Ride.
  • Eastbound DIAAH traffic will return to the DIAAH at mile marker 4.0 (just west of the Fairfax County Parkway overpass). See Figure 1.
  • Stoppages of up to 20 minutes will occur while equipment is moved to the work site.

Saturday, Aug. 26, 10 p.m. to Sunday, Aug. 27, 6 a.m.
  • The eastbound DTR will be reduced to one right lane, with left lane closures starting near mile marker 1.7 (east of the mainline toll booth).
  • At mile marker 3.5, all eastbound DTR traffic will be diverted through the Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride facility, and re-enter the DTR just east of the Park & Ride, where all eastbound DTR lanes will be open to traffic at mile marker. See Figure 2.
  • Stoppages of up to 20 minutes will occur while equipment is moved to the work site.

Please reduce speed, use caution and remain attentive to all signage and barricades. Slow-moving equipment and vehicles may be entering and exiting the highways and surrounding roads.
