Westbound Dulles Access Highway Traffic to be Detoured for Pedestrian Bridge Utility Work
Friday, March 29, 10 p.m. through Saturday, March 30, 5 a.m.
Beginning on or about Friday, March 29, at 10 p.m. and continuing until Saturday, March 30, at 5 a.m., Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project (DCMP) crews will be performing utility work at the pedestrian bridges of Reston, Innovation and Herndon Station, requiring the full closure of a portion of the westbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH).
At mile marker 9.1, traffic will be redirected to the left lane of the westbound Dulles Toll Road (DTR) from the Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH). There will be a second left DTR lane closed as a buffer. At mile marker 1.8, near the Route 28 toll plaza, traffic will be able to re-enter the DIAAH towards the airport. The ramps to the westbound DIAAH at mile marker 8.3 and 3.3 will be closed. See graphics below.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all signage and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highway at various times.
